When compared with other types of air conditioning units, a wall mounted air conditioning unit is often the recommended option for cooling or heating residential properties and small offices.
The main benefits of a wall or floor mounted air conditioner are cost and size. From an aesthetic view, wall mounted units can be discreetly installed above doorways or windows and generally do not require any additional building works to hide them. Some manufactures, such as Daikin, Mitsubishi and LG, make units that are more aesthetically pleasing and are aimed at high-end residential use or in offices where there customer-facing activities occur.
These elegant units can be used as a wall feature rather than something to be hidden or blended into the background.
Wall mounted air conditioners are also used for restaurants, server rooms and almost anywhere else that air conditioning is required as they are one of the simplest systems to install. A typical installation will take two engineers just one day to install and commission as can be seen in our handy installation video.
Wall mounted air conditioners come in a wide variety of cooling/heating power outputs with 2.5kW units being the smallest. These are perfect for small bedrooms or offices. They can however have outputs up to 10kW which are suitable for larger offices, server rooms and restaurants amongst others. A full survey will be required to check your exact requirements to ensure that a correctly specified unit is installed
Low wall mounted units are generally used for conservatries and loft conversions or places where there is restricted wall space. These units are generally the same size or smaller than traditional radiators but have the advantage of being able to cool as well as heat. You can find more information on the following pages.
