Window air conditioners keep you cool

There are different types of air con units to keep you cool, find out the differences and the benefits now with The Air Conditioning Company.

Air conditioning units that we use are basically divided into two types. While one is the typical window air conditioner, the other one is known as the split or centralised air conditioner. Both these air conditioners provide cooling, however the distinction is done on the actual amount of area that needs to be cooled.

Window air conditioners are used for cooling an area that is small and compact, whereas the split air conditioners are used for large and lavish spaces (offices, industries and many others) where the cooling has to be well distributed.

Window air conditioners are the cooling machines that are found sitting on your window. This type of air conditioner has two coils, one hot and one chilled. It is also fitted with two fans that blow the air above the coil which in return sucks the heat and humidity present in the room. This process helps in maintaining the humidity if the room.

BTUs or British thermal units are used to calculate the cooling power of the air conditioner. Another important aspect of an air conditioner that determines the cooling and the price is the tonnage. Window air conditioners could weigh anything from 0.5 to 2 tons. As the tonnage of the window air conditioner increases the cost also increases and vice-versa.

The objective of a window air conditioner is to cool the room and that is what it does, at a price and size that can be accommodated by everyone.
